Support

AAAL draws from support throughout the community. An advisory board, drawn from the community, helps the Executive Director plan and execute programming. Community volunteers include parents and youth who have graduated from past enrichment programs offered by AAAL. Partners include schools and other community organizations interested in African-American children’s education.

We would like to thank our many supporters over the past two years, including the following groups.

  • East Metro Integration District
  • Grotto Foundation
  • Hamline University
  • Hennepin County, North Point Health and Wellness Center
  • Metris
  • Metropolitan State University
  • Minneapolis Public School District
  • Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board
  • Minnesota Department of Children, Families and Learning
  • North West Suburban Integration School District
  • Osseo Area Schools
  • St. Paul Public School District
  • St Paul/Travelers Foundation
  • University of Minnesota, Human Development
  • West Metro Education Program
  • Minneapolis Foundation

AAAL’s stakeholders are very reflective of the communities in which we work, including educators, parents, and community leaders, many of them with years of experience in addressing the needs of African American students.

Special thanks for St. Paul/Travelers Foundation for their long-term financial support.
